Timber Kart Arrives at Timber Wolf Lake Young Life Camp

The E91 Foundation is excited to share that a new custom-built, two-seat electric go-kart — affectionately dubbed the “Timber Kart” — has officially arrived at Timber Wolf Lake Young Life Camp near Cadillac, Michigan.

Earlier this year, the Foundation approved a $15,850 grant to fund the purchase of the brand-new, state-of-the-art go-kart. This kart is designed specifically to allow Young Life Capernaum campers — teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities — and other campers with physical limitations to fully enjoy the go-karting experience alongside their peers.
The kart’s side-by-side two-seat design lets a camper ride right alongside a leader or buddy, with a single set of controls and a supportive high-back seat and harness — built so campers of varying ability levels can ride safely and comfortably next to a friend.

The Timber Kart was manufactured and assembled by Amusement Products (AP) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a leading name in go-kart design and fabrication. AP worked closely with the camp to build a kart that meets the accessibility needs of Capernaum campers without compromising on fun or performance.

One special touch on the kart: its custom decal package — the bold “91” racing number with both the Young Life and E91 Foundation logos — designed by our own Scott Weber in collaboration with Amusement Products and the team at Timber Wolf Lake Young Life Camp.
