John C. Samples began studying for Christian ministry after 12 years in sales and public service. After attaining Bible college and seminary degrees, he served local churches for 55 years, 15 of which as director of Christian ministries for Standard Publishing. In that national ministry, he served churches through areas of church growth, education, and as editor of two Christian magazines.
Samples retired from East 91st Street Christian Church in 2013 after serving as senior adult minister, full-time transitional minister, and senior associate pastor. He has led leadership development seminars, church growth conferences, a new church plant, and leadership in several new church organizations. His experience with churches, parachurch ministries, and missions are evidence of his continuing interest in supporting ministries evangelizing for Christ. He also has served on the boards of several missions, schools, and other parachurch organizations.
Samples earned an associate degree from Kentucky Christian University, undergraduate degree from Milligan College, and master’s from Emmanuel School of Religion.
